Clarence was the third of four children born to George Washington and Sarah (Gurton) Foust. He married (1) Ada V. McPherson in 1917 and they were the parents of one son: Homer. He married (2) Naomi Mae Andrews and they were the parents of one son: Jerry Wayne.

(Note: Not sure the date of birth on headstone and death certificate is correct. WWII Draft Registration has birth as May 15, 1899, he had an older sister Maggie Lillie that was born Feb. 4, 1894, so it isn't possible for him to be born in May of the same year. I think the birth date on the Drat Registration is probably more accurate).

CLARENCE HARRISON FOUST

EFLAND - Clarence Harrison Foust, 81, of Rt. 1, died Saturday at N.C. Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Harley Anderson and the Rev. C. T. Wells officiating. Burial will be at the church.
A native of Randolph County, he was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was the oldest living member of the N.C. Ramblers, a musical group.
Surviving are widow, Mrs. Mae Andrews Foust; son, Jerry Foust of Madison; stepsons, Donald Hicks of Efland, Bill Hicks of Mebane and Waltzie Hicks of Burlington; stepdaughters, Mrs. Jessie Finley and Mrs. Virginia Bush of Norfolk, Va., Mrs. Bessie Underwood of Reidsville; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 24 stepchildren and five step-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Williams and Buckner Funeral Home in Mebane 7-9 p.m. today and at other times at the home of Donald Hicks, Rt. 1, Efland.
