Valentine {Hanna} Karstaedt, 70, of Route 1, Sheboygan Falls, died Monday, December 5, 1988 at St. Nicholas Hospital, after an extended illness.
He was born June 30, 1918 in the Town of Schleswig, a son of the late Fred and Elizabeth Koeser Karstaedt.
Valentine Karstaedt married Elizabeth, June 12, 1943 at Bethlehem United Church of Christ, Town of Schleswig. After marriage, the couple lived and farmed on the Mahler Homestead. Hanna was also employed as a mason by the Reliance and Gabes Construction Companies. Later he worked at the Diecast Division of Tecumseh Products Company, retiring in 1980, due to health. Hanna was a member of Saron United Church of Christ and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Funeral services for Valentine {Hanna} Karstaedt will be held Friday, at 1:30 p.m. at Saron United Church of Christ, in the Town of Sheboygan Falls. The Rev. James Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Louis Corners, Town of Schleswig.
Friends of Hanna Karstaedt may call at the Zimmer Funeral Home in Howards Grove, Thursday, from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 11 a.m. until time of services.
Survivors include his wife, two sons, one of Sheboygan Falls and the other of Kiel; two daughters of Sheboygan; 12 grandchildren; five sisters, two of Kiel; one of Newton; one of Cleveland; and one of Manitowoc. He was preceded in death by one daughter and two sisters.
A memorial fund has been established to Saron United Church of Christ in Mr. Karstaedt's name.
