William L. Sills, 69, of 167 East Gore Road, died Monday, May 29, 1995, at Saint Vincent Health Center.
He was born in Erie June 30, 1925, son of the late Walter and Wilhelmina Sills.
Mr. Sills worked as a wireman at General Electric Co. for more than 21 years, retiring in 1986.
A graduate of Academy High School, Mr. Sills was a member of the Erie Thunderbirds Drum and Bugle Corps and sang with the Siebenbuerger Club choir for several years. He enjoyed making clocks. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the field artillery. He attended St. Mark Episcopal Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey M. Toomey Sills, Oct. 3, 1988; and by a brother, Harvey L. Sills.
Survivors include two sons, Walter L. Sills of Erie and Duane L. Sills of Phoenix, Ariz.; two grandchildren, a great-grandchild, several half-sisters and a half-brother.
Friends may call at Russell C. Schmidt and Sons Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Ave., today from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., and may attend a service there Thursday at 10 a.m. The Rev. W.R. Burrows III, interim pastor of St. Mark Episcopal Church, will officiate.
Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
