From Midland, MI paper: August 9, 1939, Ingersoll resident died in Pontiac: Justin P. Alvord, 85, of Ingersoll township, died Tuesday evening at the home of his daughter, Bernice Alvord of Pontiac. Mr. Alvord was a retired farmer who was born August 24, 1854 in Niagara county, NY. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Taylor funeral home in Freeland. Interment will be in the Laporte Cemetery. Friends may see him at the Taylor funeral home. He is survived by a son, Lloyd, of Johnston, NY and a daughter, Bernice, of Pontiac; a brother of New York and a sister of California and four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Justin Alvord married 15 Dec 1878 in Lyndonville, NY to Adella May Cook, who was born 15 July 1860, died 4 Nov 1926; she was the daughter of John G. Cook and Ruth Ann Smith. Her death certificate says she was buried in Laporte. Children: Lloyd, Maud, Pearl, Bernice, and Clayton.
