David began his career as a school teacher and then helped develop the media department at Indian Hills Community College. For the last 27 years, he was the Media Specialist for the Kansas City, Kansas School System. He was a member of the Drake Avenue Christian Church in Centerville.
He was preceded in death by: his father, John Starchevich and a sister-in-law, Lynn Starchevich.
David is survived by: his mother, Celia Starchevich; brother, John Stephen Starchevich; nieces, Kelly Culver, Stephenie Mattly and Hope Paris all of Centerville, Iowa.
No services are planned at this time and interment will be at a later date in the Highland Cemetery in Mystic, Iowa. Arrangements are being handled by Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville.
