David F. Starchevich, age 67, of Kansas City, Missouri and former Centerville, Iowa resident, died Saturday, June 3, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. He was born the son of John and Celia(Risher)Starchevich on October 26, 1938 in Centerville. He graduated from the Centerville Community Schools in 1957 and later graduated from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri and San Jose State in San Jose, California.
David began his career as a school teacher and then helped develop the media department at Indian Hills Community College. For the last 27 years, he was the Media Specialist for the Kansas City, Kansas School System. He was a member of the Drake Avenue Christian Church in Centerville.
He was preceded in death by: his father, John Starchevich and a sister-in-law, Lynn Starchevich.
David is survived by: his mother, Celia Starchevich; brother, John Stephen Starchevich; nieces, Kelly Culver, Stephenie Mattly and Hope Paris all of Centerville, Iowa.
No services are planned at this time and interment will be at a later date in the Highland Cemetery in Mystic, Iowa. Arrangements are being handled by Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville.
