LAKELAND - Lawrence James Acker, 74, 908 S.E. Fifth St., Mulberry, died Saturday at Lakeland General Hospital.
A native of Anderson, S.C., he had lived in Mulberry for many years. He retired from IMC and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church Mulberry.
He is survived by his wife, Rosa; daughters, Edna Ware, Delores L. Streeter and Verna M. Richardson, all of Fort Myers, Delores W. Hunt, Mulberry, and Mortray Hudson, Lakeland; sons, Howard Stanley, Bartow, David Wilkerson, Fort Lauderdale, John Smith, Tucson, Ariz. Daniel Pope, Lakeland and Lawrence Piyler, New Jersey; sisters, Pearlie Jones and Mattie Robinson, both of Mulberry and Willie Mae, New York; 27 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.
