Mrs. Margaret Mary Stauder, 48 wife of William P. Stauder, executive vice-president and treasurer of the Leader Iron Works, died suddenly in St. Marys hohspital last night while apparently improving from a recent illness. Death was believed due to a heart attack.
Mrs. Stauder whose home was at 145 N. Oakcrest ave. had been in failing health for the past 10 years and entered the hospital a short time ago for a rest. She died at 7 pm.
Margaret Mary Bell was born in Stonington, May 23, 1887 and was married there, Oct, 28, 1912 to William P. Stauder. Fifteen years ago the family came to Decatur when Mr. Stauder returned to the employ of the Leader Iron works.
She leaves her husband, two sons, William, and Robert at home, two daughters, Helen at home, and Sister Mary Stephanie of the Domician order, Sinn? Wisconsin, a brother, Lawrence Bell of Taylorville, and the following sisters, Mrs. Anna Yunker and Mrs. Nellie Musterman, Decatur, Mrs. Barbara Carroll, Springfield and Mrs. Catherine Aylward, Pace, Miss.
She was a member of the St. James Catholic church.
The body was taken to the Moran & Sons funeral home.
