Harvey was the son of Albert & Sarah Akins. On the 1880 census, the family
was living in Ashland County, OH and Harvey had 2 older sisters. When the
1900 census was filed, the family was living in Findlay, OH but the oldest
sister Lucy was absent from the report. Eventually Harvey's parents passed
away but he continued to live with his other sister Mary in Findlay. The
1948 City Directory shows them sharing an apt. His occupation throughout his
life was listed as Salesman, with one census listing him as a ticket agent
for the Railroad office. He died in the Toledo State Hospital and was buried
on the grounds when no family came forward to claim his body.
