Son of Theodore K. and Ellen Reed Addy. Torpedoman's Mate Second Class Petty Officer Addy was killed, along with all hands, onboard the United States Navy Submarine USS Dorado (SS248) on 12 October 1943 in the western Atlantic, near Cuba. It is suspected that the Dorado was either depth charged and sank by an American patrol aircraft or she was torpedoed by a German U-boat known to be operating in the area at that time.
