Leona Mesna Bignall Nov 14, 1926 - May 29, 2008 Resident of Orinda/Concord Lee passed away May 29, 2008, of cancer, at the age of 81. A native of Brooks, Montana, she had lived in Concord since she was nine years old, most recently moving to Orinda in 2004. She attended the old Concord Grammar School, graduated with a scholarship from Mt. Diablo High School and received her A.A. Degree from Diablo Valley College. As a teenager, Lee was Worthy Advisor of the Concord Assembly of Rainbow for Girls, and the Grand Representative from the State of California to the State of Montana. Lee worked for the federal government for 20 years after which she worked as a Realtor and as a Probate Research Agent. Lee was the Charter President of the Topmast Toastmistress Club, organized in 1968 at the Concord Naval Weapons Station. She conducted searches for adoptees and biological parents, for 20 years, as an active member of the Adoptees Liberty Movement Association. Her clients were world wide and afforded Lee many wonderful memories of helping others find their natural parents and/or children. Lee was predeceased by her parents and five sisters. She is survived by a son, Gary Sandstrom and granddaughter Kristina Sandstrom of Soquel, CA; five nieces and three nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 5th, at 11:00 a.m. at Moore's Mission Funeral Home, 1390 Monument Blvd., Concord. Lee would love flowers, if you wish, or a donation to the Vitas Hospice Care, 365 Lennon Lane, Walnut Creek, 94598.
