---Mrs. Lillie Mae (Scobee) Dawdy, seventy-seven, a resident of La Plata and vicinity for about sixty years, died in a Kirksville hospital Friday night after a short illness of a little more than two days.
---Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:00 from the Christian Church in La Plata, conducted by Rev. R.L. Prather, pastor of the church.
---She was the daughter of Robert G. and Nannie Belle Scobee and was born near Perry, Missouri on November 21, 1872.
---She was married to Frank J. Dawdy and two children were born. Her husband died October 9, 1924 and one son, Leslie, died August 27, 1937.
---She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Ethel Johnson, with whom she had made her home since the death of her husband.
---Three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Bertie Dodson of Santa Cruz, California, Mrs. Nora Norman of Perry, Missouri and Mrs. Cena Bundy of La Plata and two brothers, R.M. Scobee of Kirksville and Paul Scobee of Moberly survive.
---Mrs. Dawdy had been an active member of the La Plata Christian Church for many years. She was a teacher of the Loyal Berean Class for thirty years and Sunday School treasurer for ten years. She was an Order of the Eastern Star member.
---Out of town relatives and friends present at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. R.M. Scobee, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Scobee, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bragg of Kirksville; Mrs. Nora Norman of Perry, Missouri; Mr. and Mrs. Famous McNeely, Mr. and Mrs. W.E. McNeely, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Barrow, Mrs. Don Eggleston and Mr. and Mrs. Finis Sagaser of Macon; Mrs. Charley Sagaser of Bevier, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Scobee of Moberly; Dr. and Mrs. George Easclman of Huntsville; Mrs. Harry Nichol of Memphis and Mrs. Ernest Jones of Quincy.
