Lila Rae (Bibbee) Edmundson, of Falls Church, VA, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010, due to complications from liver cancer.
She was preceded in death in 2003 by her husband, Edward Francis Edmundson.
Her sisters, who also preceded her, were Helen Elizabeth, Emily Marie, Bessie Kathryn and Jane Effie; and one brother, Robert Winfield Bibbee.
She was the daughter of George McClinic Bibbee and Dove Ellen (Sager) Bibbee.
She is survived by two sons, James Edward Edmundson and Jeffrey Allen Edmundson; and one daughter, Cheryl Ann (Edmundson) Kelley.
She had six grandchildren. The children of her son, James, are James Edward II and Erin Elizabeth Edmundson; the children of her son, Jeffrey, are Heather Lee and Hayley Rae Edmundson; and the children of her daughter, Cheryl, are Steven Edward and Daniel Christopher Kelley.
Mrs. Edmundson was born May 31, 1933, in Clarksburg, W.Va. She came to Washington, D.C. in the 1950s to work for the Federal Government at the Pentagon, where she met her future husband. She married Edward Francis Edmundson on Dec. 20, 1952, in Connellsville. She later worked for the Arlington County, Va., schools as a food service employee.
She was a member of Clarendon Baptist Church for many years. She lived most of her adult life in Falls Church, Va.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at ADVENT FUNERAL SERVICES, 7211 Lee Highway, Falls Church, Va. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Brasler officiating. Interment will follow at the National Memorial Park.
