Jacob was the son of Richard Ankrom Sr (1727-1794) and Elizabeth Fee (1725-1796).

Jacob married Elizabeth Clark on March 20, 1779. They had 11 children that I know of.

After his wife Elizabeth died, he married Nancy Ivers, who was a daughter of William and Sarah McCoy Ivers. She (Nancy) may be buried here in the County Home Cemetery, or she could be buried in the Ivers Cemetery with her parents. The Ivers Cemetery used to have monuments, but it has since been destroyed.
