Gerald was a farmer in the Oakland Community for several years. Farming is what he loved, and in 1974 he was awarded the "YOUNG FARMER OF THE YEAR" award by the Jaycee's.

He had formely been employed with the Midland Ross factory in Paris, Tenn.

Gerald was only 45 years old at the time of his death and died of cancer.

Church Membership: The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Paris, Tenn.

Gerald's Funeral service was held at the McEvoy's Chapel on June 4, 1988 at 2 p.m.. Officiating Ministers were Bro. Joseph E. Green and Bro. James McClure.

Pallbearers were: John C. Hill, Andy Sanders, Dennis McClure, Hershel Hudson, Lloyd Stephens and Joseph Gately.
