PRITCHARD, of Holbrook, Jan. 17th, 2005, Herbert C. "Clark" Pritchard. Husband of the late Audrey M. (Ash) Pritchard. Loving father of Attorney William H. Pritchard and Robert C. Pritchard both of Holbrook. Brother of the late Benjamin S. Pritchard and William A. Pritchard. Also survived by 4 nephews, 2 nieces, 8 great nephews and 4 great nieces. Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 69 So. Franklin St., (Rte 37), Holbrook. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 1:30 PM in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Burial in Union Cemetery, Holbrook. Herbert was born in Marion Indiana and died at home on Jan. 17th at the age of 86. He was a retired Contractor for Road Building. He trained crews that were going to take ships out of the Fore River on their maiden voyages during WWII including the USS Massachusetts. One of his jobs at the shipyard was taking the ships out for their trial runs. He was a Lt. Commander in the US Coast Guard during WWII. He was also a Chief Engineer for the Merchant Marines.He is a past president of the Holbrook Rotary Club. He was a member of the Utilities Contractors Union. He was an avid white water canoe, water skier, snow skier and avid sailor. He graduated from Quincy High School and Northeastern University with a degree in Engineering. He was a contractor doing road building throughout many cities and towns across the South Shore.
