Madeline M. Vance, 84, died July 18, 2005, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
She was born June 7, 1921, at Coldwater, the daughter of Roy and Regina Deringer Richardson. She graduated from Coldwater High School in 1939. A lifetime resident of Coldwater, she was a postal clerk for 27 years, retiring in 1986, and worked for the family accounting business.
She belonged to First Presbyterian Church, Coldwater, and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
On August 30, 1941, she married Jack D. Vance south of Coldwater. He survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Joe, Coldwater; two daughters, Jacqulyn Vance, Lawrence, and Janice Vance, Wichita; a sister, Myra David, Laguna Niguel, CA; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter; Judith Diane Vance; a brother; Merle Richardson; and a sister; Mildred Simian.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, Coldwater, with Brother Ken Pitzer presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and 9 to 11 a.m Thursday at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Coldwater.
Memorials may be sent to Comanche County Economic Development Foundation, Chief Theater, Comanche County Medical Foundation, or the church, all in care of the funeral home.
