A big thanks to Florence for finding Daisy's obituary
Texas Christian Advocate, June 2, 1898:

Mrs. Daisy Whitaker was born in Burnet County, Texas, June 17, 1875. At the age of four years she moved to Tennessee, where she lived for thirteen years. At the age of seventeen she again came to Texas, where she married Mr. S. S. Whitaker, August 18, 1890. To this union was given four children, two of whom survive her, but two have passed on to glory. In July, 1895, she professed faith in Christ and united with the Methodist Church, where she lived until her death, May 11, 1898. Her maiden name was Balch. She suffered for a long time with consumption. She left her testimony that God saves to the uttermost those who come to God by Christ.
