WATERBURY — Mrs. Gloria J. (Liverman) Hoskie, 59, of 12 Hinsdale Ave., passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 29, 2010, at the home of her son in New Britain surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness. She was the widow of James M. Hoskie.

She was born Jan. 25, 1951, in Hertford County, N.C., a daughter of the late Early and Ida (Beaman) (Liverman) Wright. She was educated in the North Carolina public school system. At an early age, she gave her life to Christ and joined Parkers Grove Baptist Church in Mapleton, N.C. She moved with her family to Waterbury in 1968, later married James Hoskie, joined Grace Baptist Church and later Christ CME Church, where she served on the steward board and was church conference secretary. She was employed by Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in Cheshire for 37 years. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, James M. Hoskie Jr. of Waterbury, and Anthony (Simmi Wallace) DeWayne Hoskie of New Britain; seven grandchildren, seven sisters, Barbara B. (Raymond) Hoskie of Franklin, Va., Earlene Liverman and M. Lois Liverman, both of Waterbury, Linda L. (Frank) Beumer of Martinez, Ga., Janet J. (Kenneth) Marshall and Queen E. Jordan of Norfolk, Va., and Ellen "Nicee" D. Jordan of Waterbury; three brothers, Booker T. Jordan, Louis K. Jordan and David W. Wright, all of Waterbury; an aunt, Clara B. Garrett of Murfreesboro, N.C.; several nieces, nephews and cousins, extended family and a host of friends.

Funeral service will be held 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, 2010, at Christ CME Church, 32 Maple St., with the Rev. Henry Moultrie officiating. Graveside service and burial will be held noon Aug. 5, 2010, at Diamond Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 30466 Riverdale Drive, Franklin, Va. Calling hour will be held 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, 2010, at the church. The family will receive friends at the church from 6:30 p.m. until the time of service.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Chapel Memorial Funeral Home, 35-37 Grove St.
