Mone, better known as "Bear" to family and friends or "Mi Cielito" to her grandmother, was second generation of the Sioux Indian Tribe and fifth generation of the Chumash Indian Tribe. Bear was born February 8, 1977, in Poplar, Montana, and had been a Ventura County resident since the age of 3 months. She enjoyed singing and listening to Mexican music, family gatherings, playing with her brothers and sisters, and spending time with her friends. Bear felt once she knew you, you were family. Her friends were an important part of her life and she considered them an extension of her family. Bear expressed her love for others by giving flowers and balloons. Her tragic and unexpected passing at age 24 in an automobile accident shocked her entire family. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten. She is survived by her daughter, Angelica Cecelia Bear, age 4; her son, Christian Arthur Bear, five weeks old; granny, Cecelia Rodriguez Monen; mother, Christine Oregon; sisters, Melina and Isla Oregon; brothers, Robert R. Oregon, Jr., and Santos Rayos of Ventura; and numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. She is preceded in death by her father, Edward Dale Bear; sister, Constance Bear; grandparents, Leonard and Bertha "Bluestone" Bear; uncle, Julio Bear, all of Poplar, Montana; and great-grandparents Ignacio B. and Christine Ortega Rodriguez of Ventura, California.
