Barbara Ruth Rector, 66, of Crossville, passed away Feb. 2, 2004. Funeral services were conducted Feb. 4 from the chapel of Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with burial in Bowman Cemetery. Raymond Chadwick and Scott Brady officiated, with music by Reba D. Reed.
Mrs. Rector was born Feb. 5, 1937 in Crossville, the daughter of Blaine Barnwell and Elsie Woody Barnwell.
She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, William L. Rector; daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and Jason Tanner and Veronica (Roni) and Danny Hopson; grandchildren, Erika Joann Rector, William Tyler Connley and Nicholas Aleksander Tanner; mother, Elsie Woody Barnwell; brothers, Ralph Barnwell, Hershel Barnwell, Sevier Barnwell, Edd Barnwell, Frank Barnwell and Ernest Barnwell; and sister, Teresa Cole.
She was preceded in death by her father, Blaine Barnwell; and infant sons, William Joseph Rector and Blaine Lester Rector.
Pallbearers were Edd Barnwell II, Mark Cole, David Cole, Jimmy Barnwell, Darrell Barnwell, Michael Woody and Eddie Woody.
Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
