William F. Markofski,

Age 65, of Lyons, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Memorial Hospital of Burlington. William was born June 19, 1945 in Burlington, to the late Victor and Helen (nee Brehm) Markofski. He was a lifetime resident of the Burlington area and attended St. Mary's Grade School and St. Mary's High School. William proudly served in the United States Navy from 1962 until 1963.

William worked as a Maintenance Technician for Packaging Corporation of America and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He loved old cars and hot rods and enjoyed working in his shop and doing projects. William collected trains, John Deere, Betty Boop and Coca Cola memorabilia. Most of all he loved spending time with his kids and grandkids.







Survivors include his loving daughters; Laurel Hobbick-Marzahl of Burlington, Lisa (Tony) Morrow of Osseo, and Lana B. (Joel) Krogh of Lyons, granddaughters; Amanda and Samantha Hobbick and Jessica, Caitlyn, Mikayla and Sharidan Morrow, and by sisters, Betty Mae Kaiser, Carol Jones and Joan (Harry) Groleau. William was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jack Markofski.



William's family would like to express a special thank you to the Lyons Fire and Rescue for their prompt service and tireless efforts on behalf of Dad and to Memorial Hospital of Burlington ER for their care and compassion.
