Lois was born and raised on a farm in Solon, OH. Her parents were Emery Cameron and Louise Hirschman Cameron. She quickly grew tired of the farm life, and moved to Cleveland. Graduating in 1933 from Huron Road Hospital School of Nursing, Lois spent the rest of her life caring for the sick. She joined the Army during WWII, and was stationed in Europe under Dwight D. Eisenhower. After leaving the Army in 1946, Lois made her home in Southern California. She was an excellent Registered Nurse, and served for many years as Dr. Joseph Cotten's private nurse in thoracic surgery.

Lois learned she had breast cancer in 1973, underwent a radical mastectomy and had many months of radiation and chemotherapy to no avail. She moved back to Ohio via automobile just 2 months prior to her death. She was cremated and her grave marker lies near her brother James and her parents.

Married William Evans Jack in 1951. Produced 2 children, James Evans Jack in 1953 and Judy Gayle Jack in 1954. Was step-mother to William Robert Jack.
