He served as honor guard for President Kennedy in the US Air Force where he received several medals of honor. He worked as a courier for DOE before being disabled in a car accident. He enjoyed helping people and writing and singing country and gospel music. He played the guitar and sang for several years at David's Music Barn. In addition to his parents, Marshal is preceded in death by sister, Laurie Ann Emert; brothers, Wallace Lee Emert, Dewey Ray Emert, and Jerry Steve Emert.

family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 9th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM with a memorial service following at 8:00 PM in the chapel of Jones Mortuary with the Rev. Gary Swaggarty officiating. Graveside service will be on Wednesday, October 10th at 10:00 AM at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton with full Military Honors. Jones Mortuary in Clinton, TN is in charge of all arrangements.
