Blackburn-Mitchener Marriage Announcement

While the event was anticipated for some time by their large circle of friends, Miss Vivian Mitchener and Clarence Blackburn stole a march on the community at an early hour Tuesday morning and were quietly married at the Methodist parsonage in Malta Bend. Rev. VG Clark performing the ceremony. It was a most quiet affair, only Mr. and Mrs. Lester Dyer, Mrs. FC Blackburn, and Miss Dorthy Houston being witnesses to the marriage. Immediately after the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Blackburn departed in their new Hudson Six car for a honeymoon trip to the mountains rsorts of Colorado, being accompanied as far as Kansas City by Mr. and Mrs. Dyer. They expect to be absent about a month before taking up residence on the farm six miles northeast of Malta Bend.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. MB Mitchener well known throughout this section, the family name being prominently connected with early history of Saline County. Mr. Blackburn is a native son and is one of the most prosperous young farmers in the county. In their new found happiness the young couple have the very best wishes of the entire community.
