On New Year's Eve, the Lord called her name and she answered "Yes." Ruth left this world to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on December 31, 2005 surrounded by friends and family. She went to join her father, David Z. Acosta, step-father John L. Zumwalt, and her beloved pet E.V.

Born June 27, 1957 in San Antonio, TX, Ruth lived in Carrollton for the past 20 years. She was a much loved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Although battling a life-long illness, Ruth lived a life of doing good for others and making them happy.

She will be missed greatly by her mother, Angie Zumwalt, step-mother Madeleine Acosta, sisters Anita Hunt and husband Jim, Bea Garza, Sylvia Holler and husband Tim, nieces Adrienne Ball and husband Jon, Marissa Muntz and husband Jimmy, nephews Jimmy Hunt, Brian Williamson, Ryan Hunt, and Justin Holler, grandnieces Clarissa and Kavita Hunt, Godchildren Cassie Pena and Brian Meza, and her beloved pets Eddie, Evie II, Tommie and Teddy.

Ruth graduated from Blessed Sacrament Catholic High School, San Antonio, TX, and attended San Antonio College. She served her community as both a hospital volunteer and teacher assistant. Her passion was home decorating and being a listener and friend to all who knew her.

A prayer service will be held at Sparkman/Dickey Funeral Home Chapel, on Tuesday, January 3, from 10-11:30 am. The family will receive friends and family on Wed, Jan 4, from 5-9:30 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North, 3401 Cherry Ridge, San Antonio, TX 78230, with a Rosary at 7 pm. The Funeral Mass will be Thurs, Jan 5, 10 am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, on Cross Mountain Road, San Antonio, TX. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park North.

Pallbearers: Jimmy Hunt, Ryan Hunt, Justin Holler, Jon Ball, Jimmy Muntz, and Mark Macias. The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers.
