William C. Ackerman, Jr., 51, loving friend and partner of, S. Laurin, of Broad Brook, died tragically Tuesday (August 3, 2010) in Manchester. Born in Hackensack, NJ on January 23, 1959, son of V. (Wareing) Ackerman of Lakeland, FL and the late William C. Ackerman, Sr.

He had lived in Manchester for most of his life before moving to Broad Brook almost three years ago.

He was a member of Union Local 1035 of South Windsor and was employed by Hartford Distributors of Manchester for many years.

He graduated Enfield High School where his was an athlete in hockey, baseball and football, and enjoyed golfing, hiking and gardening. Also was a fan of the Boston Red Sox, the Dallas Cowboys and UConn football and basketball teams.

In addition to S. and V. he leaves three children that he adored, D. L., N. and M. S. all at home; four brothers, J., C., D. and T. Ackerman; a sister, S. Ackerman; and a nephew, C. Ackerman.

He leaves his Band of Brothers, B. Rush, J. McCoy, D. Durfee and M. Sullivan.

Among his many friends and co-workers, he leaves, M. and M. Shepherd and many kids who loved him.

He was predeceased by his step-father, Frank Podojil.

He was special, sensitive and for a big guy he was one of a kind and had a big heart.
