ADAMS - Alfred D. "Crow," 82, Cresson, died Dec. 1, 2006, at Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. Born Dec. 28, 1923, in Cresson, son of the late Dewey and Eleanor (Conrad) Adams. Preceded in death by son, Philip J.; grandson, Ronald Adams Jr.; brothers, Howard and Kenneth; and sisters, Alberta, Alfaretta and Virginia. Survived by wife, former Dolores McGuire, whom he married April 11, 1945, in Cresson; children, Ronald (Rose Hooder), Florida; Elaine Latterner (Lester), Hollidaysburg; Norman (Gerrie Poole), Texas; and Nancy Hoover (Michael), Sankertown; 13 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. Brother of Cyril, John, William and Mary McGuire. Army veteran of World War II. Retired from ConRail in 1983. Crow enjoyed golfing and gardening. Member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and American Legion, both of Cresson. Life member of Sankertown VFW. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Charles M. Kennedy Funeral Home, Cresson, where vigil for the deceased will be held. American Legion memorial service at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Xavier Church, the Rev. Angelo Patti. Committal, church cemetery. Military graveside rites by Sankertown VFW, Cresson American Legion and other local veterans organizations
