Previously married to Andrew Cashatt

In 1900, she was head of household; divorced; she stated "1 child born, 1 living" - only her daughter, Eva May, was living with her; her occupation was "farm manager";
in 1920, she lived alone, 81 years old; she lived next door to her married daughter, Eva (Smith)McElhaney

Sarah Caroline Thomas Smith.
1900 census Eva May Smith was around 16, Sarah had 6 other children. 2 girls, and 2 boys by Andrew Cashatt and 1 girl, and 1 boy by Henry Bemis (spelled Beemis) in the 1870 Census. The girl Elvira born 1870 was my grandmother, a son Arthur T. was born in 1873. The 4 Cashatt lived with Sarah and Henry in Bee Branch Township, Missouri. The 1890 Civil War records showed Henry died in Aug.,leaving his pension (I believe) of $30.00 to Sarah Smith and minor child Elvira Bemis etal.. I had heard that there was a fourth husband. She was in the 1925 Iowa State Census as living with my Grandparents S. P. Loving and Elvira Loving in Garden Grove, Iowa where she died in December, 1926. I do remember going to her grave site as a young girl. I cannot find any info on Eva May.
