MULVANE Shoup, Marceille B., 94, died Friday, October 23, 2009. Visitation 1-8 p.m., Sunday with family receiving friends 5-7 p.m., Senter-Smith Mortuary, 501 SE Louis Blvd. Funeral service 10 a.m., Monday, Mulvane United Methodist Church. She was born May 7, 1915, to Carey P. and Elizabeth Thompson Butts on the farm that her grandfather homesteaded near Mulvane. She attended Mulvane schools before going to college and taught country schools before marrying the love of her life, Francis B. Shoup, August 27, 1939. They raised three daughters on their farm. Marceille was known for her generosity and caring for others. She was a lifelong learner. Preceded in death by her husband, 2 brothers, and great-granddaughter, Hannah. Survivors: daughters, Janice (Jan) Cipra, Ft. Collins, CO, Charlotte (Don) Olsen, Randolph, KS, Marcia (Kurt) Smeester, Ft. Collins, CO; grandchildren, Sarah, Livia, Rebecca, Adam, Zebulun, Reggie and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Nissa, John, and Daniel; brother, Forrest (Delva) Butts, Mulvane; nieces & nephews. Memorials: Mulvane United Methodist Church, 107 S. Central, Mulvane, KS 67110 or Kansas 4-H Foundation, 116 Umberger Hall, Manhattan, KS 66506. Senter-Smith Mortuary.
