KILLED: Maj. Robert C. Irvine, whose wife and three-year-old son, Robert, live at 2050 Garnet Street, Regina, has been reported killed in action in Italy, April 30. Born at Sutherland, Sask., in 1911, he was employed by the T. Eaton company in Moose Jaw from 1928 to 1937 when he was transferred to Regina with the firm. A member of the Regina Rifles, reserve, for some time before the outbreak of war, he joined the active forces Aug. 26, 1939, and went overseas in December of the same year as a member of the Saskatoon Light Infantry. He was promoted to captain in 1941 and to major in 1942. A veteran of the Sicilian campaign, he had been in Italy since July, 1943. Surviving, besides his wife and son, are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. G. Irvine, Moose Jaw; a sister, Mrs. E. Lairing, Turtleford, Lake; a brother, Therol Irvine, in England, and a brother, Frank, Fort William.
