Corbin Benham, known as "Benny," died at home, at the age of 83, complications from heart disease. He had been hospitalized twice recently, been very ill and weak. He was under the care of Hospice, and resided in Mulvane, Kansas. He was the son of Corbin R. Benham Sr. and Alice Benham. Benny was a Retired Boeing Security Guard. He had joined Boeing in 1948 and worked there for 43 years. In 1961 he became a chartered member of Local # 255, the International Union, and the United Plant Guard Workers of America. He was the local President for 25 years, and served as the International Representative and International Trustee, also served as the Commissioner of the Kansas Commission on Civil Rights for 18 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Corbin Benham Sr., a brother, Harold Benham, and a step-grandson, Cory Phillips II. He is survived by: His wife of nearly 40 years, Zelma Benham, of Mulvane, Kansas, a son, Bradley Benham of Savannah, Georgia, a daughter, Pamela Brooks, of Haysville, Kansas, two step-daughters, Sandy Greer, of Mulvane, Kansas, and Patricia Young, of Wichita, Kansas, a brother, Timothy Benham of Wichita, Kansas, two grandsons, Todd and Phillip Grant, 4 step-grandchildren, Diana Hoogland, Susan Blackburn, Todd Rhoades, and Colby Greer, and 7 step-great-grandchildren. Smith Family Mortuary of Derby, Kansas, is handling arrangements.
