Harry married Ruth Anderson Story on October 31, 1916 in Vanderburgh County, Indiana. Source "Index to Marriage Records 1846-1920. Book 64, page 283". Ruth moved back with her parents Charles and Mary Story in Jefferson county Kentucky 1930 Census, after Harry's death.

Sawmill man, Greencastle. Enlisted May 8, 1917, Jefferson Barracks, Mo. Training: Jefferson Barracks, Mo.; Gettsyburg, Pa. Assigned to Company G, 7th Infantry; transferred to Company D, 18th Infantry. Private first class, July 28, 1917; corporal, September 22, 1917. Overseas October 29, 1917. Battles: Luneville, Ansauville, Montdidier-Noyon, Catigny, Soissons. Killed in action July 22, 1918, Soissons. Buried in Suresnes American Cemetery, Suresnes, Seine, France Grave 20, row 17 block B.
