DIED OF WOUNDS. On the morning of August 19th, Private Abram was with his Company in support trenches East of Foquescourt. He was billeted with some other men of the party in a cellar. At daybreak the enemy shelled the vicinity with gas shells, and everybody wore their gas masks for about an hour. On taking their masks off again, the gas had almost disappeared. The party moved into another trench where they laid down to rest. A little later on several of the men were taken sick, and attended to by the stretcher bearers. At about 11 a.m. Private Abram was so sick that he was carried to the Dressing Station, and died from the effects of gas poisoning at #55 General Hospital, Boulogne, on 23-8-1918.

Father: John Abram
Mother: Mary Eisabeth Lalonde
