Born in Tipperary, Ireland he enlisted 24 Apr 1914 into the U.S. Army 69th Regiment (New York National Guard) Company A in New York City, promoted to rank of Private 24 Jul 1917. Served overseas 27 Oct 1917. Engagements: Foret Porroy; Baccarat Section (Champange, 14 Jul 1918). Killed in action, Chateau Thierry; St. Michiel; Verdun, 15 Oct 1918 at the age of 29 years, 4 months. Rank at death: Mec (20 Jul 1917, Mech. or Mechanic; NARA).
