Mrs. Vera A. Johnson
Mrs. Vera A. Johnson, 60, of East Road, Shaftsbury, a former resident of 822 Gage St., died at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, N.Y. Tuesday morning after a brief illness.
Born in Shaftsbury, Aug. 14, 1911, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bump and had received her education in Shaftsbury schools. Mrs. Johnson was employed at Thomson Mfg. Co.
Survivors are one son, Laurence E. Johnson of Shaftsbury; three sisters, Mrs. Fred (Bess) Loveland and Mrs. William (Gertrude) Hall, both of Shaftsbury, and Mrs. Harold (Esther) Grover of Hoosick Falls, N.Y.; two brothers, Edgar Bump of Bennington and Noyes Bump of Hoosick, N.Y.; nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be at Mahar & Son Funeral Home Friday at 10 am with the Rev. Floyd L. LaBombard, First Baptist Church pastor, officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 and Thursday from 7 to 9 pm.
If friends desire, contributions in her memory may be made to the Bennington Rescue Squad or to a favorite charity through the funeral home offices.
Burial will be in the family plot in Maple Hill Cemetery, Shaftsbury, at a later date.
