Frank Arthur Owens, Jr of Pierpont, AFL-CIO official here for many years, died early yesterday at a local hospital. He was 62,

Funeral services will be held at 3 p. m. today at Stuhr's Chapel with the Rev, Luther H. Jeffcoat and the Rev, Lybwood Magee officating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.

A native of Charleston, he was born Dec.27, 1894, a son of Frank A. Owens and Mrs Lila Glenn Owens. He was aMember of St Barnabas Lutheran Church.

Mr. Owens was an agent here for the Marine Engineering Beneficiary Assn. and took an active part in affairs affecting the Charleston waterfront.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Hilda Mette Owens; three daughters, Misses Valley Glenn Owens, Juanda Lee Owens and Martelle Ashley Owens, all of Pierpont.; a son Frank A. Owens III of Pierpont; three brothers, George Legare Owens of Federndina Beach, Fla; James Robert Owens, Harold Cross Owens and two half-brohers, William Francis Owens, all of Charleston and Henry Bernard Owens of Sun Valley, Calif.; two half-sisters, Mrs Capitola Estekowski of Sun Valley, Calif., and Mrs Bernard A. Ray of Charleston; and a stepmother of Sun Valley, Calif.
