Andrew (Andy) was the fourth of ten children born to Lawrence Brummer ( 1891-1961) and his wife Annie Kingen-Brummer (1895 - 1979).
Andrew had 7 brothers and two sisters :

Rhinehard (Pat) Henry 1913,
Raymond Harry 1916,
Roman S 1916,
Herbert Henry 1920,
Joseph Harry 1923,
Isabelle Marie 1924,
Harry Norbert 1928,
Richard Lawrence 1931,
Angeline Annie (Minnie) 1933.


He was drafted in to the US Army in1941 and was trained in anti-aircraft.

Andrew R . Bruummer was officially M.I.A. (Missing In Action) from January 7,1945 until July 8,1945 although he was buried in Foy,Belgium on May 25,1945.

Andy was killed In Action during the Battle of the Bulge,in the vicinity of Lutrebois.

Andrew R. Brummer was temporary buried at the American Cemetery in Foy,Plot J , Row 6, Grave 141 on May 25,1945.

On September 23,1948 Andrew R. Brummer is laid to rest at the Henri Chapelle American Cemetery

His sister Mrs.Isabel Marie Knudson had the opportunity to visit Andrew's grave in Henri-Chapelle and she said : " I think Pa and Ma did the right thing when they allowed him to be buried over there,it seems right that he was buried where he died for his country".
Andrew was awarded with the Purple Heart Medal.
