"Locally, the Cape Cod Chapter of American Veterans will hold four ceremonies in Dennis. The first, at 9:15 a.m., will honor Medal of Honor winner and native son Benjamin F. Baker at Swan Lake Cemetery. This will be followed by a rededication of the SSG Wallace Doane plaque at 9:40 a.m. at the Dennisport Library. Doane was killed in 1945 and is interred in Belgium."

( Citation Needed): Wallace C. Doane, United States Army, is reported to have been awarded the Silver Star under the below-listed General Orders, for conspicuo0us gallantry and intrepidity in action against the enemy while serving with the 90th Infantry Division during World War II.


He was also awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters
