Robert A. Sloper was born on August 3,1920 in the family of William A. Sloper ( * 9 Mar 1896 † Dec 1963) and his wife Mary Elisabeth Sloper.(* 23 Aug 1897 † 15 Jun 1966)
Robert had three siblings, Brother William.A born in 1918,and his two sisters Verla.E,
March *9, 1922 and Marylin.D, born in 1925 .
The Sloper family lived in Natick but moved to Waltham,Middlesex County,Massachuchets.
After completing school Bob was employed as a metal worker,Bob was single.

Robert,Bob as he was called by his family entered the U.S. Army on August 12th, 1942 in Fort Devens,Massachussets.

The 44th Engineer Battalion arrived in Bristol,U.K. on April 4,1944 on board the MS Santa Rosa.

Pvt. Robert A. Sloper was officially Missing In Action (MIA) from 19 December,1944
Until 13 July 1945.

After he was wounded on December 19, Robert was taken prisoner of war by the German Troops and was detained in "Gefangenenlager Fallsch Sau 51". (Prisoncamp) were he died on December 21.
Robert A. Sloper was buried by the German troops on the local Cemetery of Hoscheid,Luxembourg.

On April 25,1945 Pvt. Robert Arnold Sloper was reinterred by the 610th Quartermasters OR Reg. CC,in the (Temporary) American Cemetery in Foy,Belgium in Plot 1, Row 8, Grave 188.
