CLARENCE BAILEY

Clarence B. Bailey, 65, South Wayne, died Wednesday, October 7, 1992, in Pleasant View Nursing Home, Monroe.

He was born September 4, 1927, in Rock County, the son of Carroll and Huldah (Clark) Bailey.

He was a graduate of Solders Grove High School and serviced in the U.S. Navy in World War II.

He married Elfrieda Huff, July 1, 1950, in Beloit. She died May 18, 1991.

Clarence worked for Freeman Shoes, Beloit, and was a n insurance salesman for American Family and Prudential Insurance until retiring March 1, 1990.

He was a member of Our Master's United Methodist Church, Beloit, South Wayne Volunteer Fire Department, Monroe Moose Lodge, the South Wayne Sportsman's Club and did volunteer work on the public address system and was scoreboard keeper for Black Hawk Schools for more than 20 years.

Survivors include his mother, Huldah Bailey, Richland Center; three sons, Terry, Green Bay; Mark, Alhambra, California, and Curtis, Dubuque, Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. Keith (Valerie) Hoesly, Browntown, and Vickie Bailey, South Wayne; a brother, Gordon, Richland Center; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 10, 1992, at Peach United Church of Christ, Browntown, the Rev. William G. McIntyre and Kevin Cernek officiated. Burial was in Union Cemetery, South Wayne. Hanson Funeral Home, South Wayne, was in charge of arrangements.
