William Wesley Glenn, 73 of Springfield, passed away in Cox South Monday, Aug. 2, 2010. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 5, 2010 in White Chapel Cemetery.

Wesley was born in Ozark, Mo., on October 25, 1936, the son of Roger Glenn and Sophia (Zay) Glenn Engelking. He graduated from Springfield (Central) High School. As a young man he played AAA fast pitch softball, winning the Western Regional Champions for the Amateur Softball Association of America in 1959 and 1960. He worked in electronic retail sales until his retirement.

He is survived by two daughters, Laurie Duff of Rogersville and Debbie Hines of St. Louis; his sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Keith Keltner of Nixa; two nieces, Kimberly Mills of Rogersville and Kristy Horton of Springfield; his companions Judith Butts and "Teak"; and 7 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sophia (Zay) Glenn Engelking and his father, Roger Wesley Glenn.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, www.jdrf.org, in his honor.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walnut Lawn Funeral Home.
