Harry served as a Staff Sergeant and Engineer on B-17G " Myer's Flaw " #42-31553, 534th Bomber Squadron, 381st Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Baltimore, Maryland prior to the war.

B-17G " Myer's Flaw " #42-31553 took off, with a crew of 10, on a bombing mission over Berlin, Germany. They were attacked and show down by enemy aircraft and crashed in Wernsdorf/Niederlehme, six miles SW of Erkner, Germany.

" 5 " crew members were able to bailout and became POW's and " 5 " were " Killed In Action " in the crash.

Harry was declared "Missing In Action" in this crash during the war.

He was awarded the Air Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster and the Purple Heart.
