Pauline Hays, 88, of Bowling Green, died at 8:13 p.m. Aug. 6, 2010, at a Woodburn nursing home.
The Warren County native was born Aug. 3, 1922. She graduated from Barren River School in 1936. She was a seamstress for 47 years at the Derby Underwear Co. She was a member of Living Hope Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, sewing and cooking for other people. She was a daughter of the late Davis King and Annie Runner King and the wife of the late George T. Epley and the late Julian B. Hays. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert, Earl and Bobby King; and four sisters, Elizabeth Madison, Myrl Frye, Christine Douglas and Bernice Douglas.
Funeral is at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Living Hope Baptist Church, with burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Lovers Lane chapel, and begins at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Survivors include five children, Julian B. Hays Jr. of Cleveland, Miss., Joseph S. Hays of Smiths Grove, Paul T. Hays of Renton, Wash., and Kenneth W. Hays and Debra R. Hays, both of Bowling Green; six grandchildren, Joel Hays of Oxford, Miss., Anna Hays of Clinton, Miss., Sean-Reid Hays of Bowling Green and Kristina, Kevin and Stephanie Hays, all of Renton, Wash.; a special niece, Georgia Mae Martin; a special nephew, Johnny W. Douglas; and many other nieces and nephews.
