Paul E. Adams, born in 1922 in Alleghany Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania, the son of George G. and Myrtle A. Adams enlisted in the United States Army "for the duration of the War or other emergency, plus six months, subject to the discretion of the President or otherwise according to law" on January 26, 1943 at Altoona, Pennsylvania. He had completed four years of high school, was employed as a Semiskilled occupation in fabrication of metal products, n.e.c., single without dependents; was 5'5" tall, and weighed 139 lbs.

Private First Class Adams, service number 33571151, was a member of the 7th Infantry 3rd Division when he was killed in action on November 3, 1944. He was awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and buried at Plot C Row 10 Grave 29 at the Ardennes American Cemetery at Neupré (Neuville-en-Condroz), near Liège, Belgium.
