Many years after his death, in 2003, my parents gave birth to my brother. They named him Abraham in Uncle Abell's honour. It has always saddened me to think that his own family never got a chance to see his grave, to hold a funeral, to do many of the things we usually do when someone dies.
If you ever see his grave, I ask you, please stay a while, and silently tell him "You did a good job mate, thank you" on my behalf...
His father Thomas chose his epitaph, which I am told reads:
"Thy dress was like the lilies and thy heart as pure as they"
