John James Baddly, son of John Baddly and Mary Baddly, formerly Mulligan, was born on 28 September 1892, at 49 Mulgrave Street, Kingstown [now Dun Laoghaire].
His father was a Sailor, then based in Malta.
His parents were married on 3 January 1893.
John Baddley's place of residence was noted as HMS "Flora", Kingstown Harbour.
Mary Mulligan, aged 19, lived at 91 Lower George's Street, Kingstown.
