PFC James Walter Hazen, Jr. was the s/o James Walter Hazen and Beulah Mae Patterson. He was born and raised in Ponca City, Kay, Oklahoma.

He married Freda Ruth Barnes from Blackwell, Kay, Oklahoma, d/o Fred and Bessie Barnes.

James and Freda had a daughter, Linda Ruth Hazen,born in 1944 who married Dalton Alander. They live in Santa Rosa, California, USA.

Military Service:
U.S. Army, Private First Class, 7th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division. Serial #38126940. Awarded the Purple Heart. He died during the first day of Operation Dragoon on 15 Aug 1944 near Cavalaire-sur-Mer,region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur in the French Riviera.
