HOECKELBERG, GARY LUMBER DEALER, DIES
A Gary pioneer, lumber dealer William H. Hoeckelberg, died suddenly in his residence at 5616 Millers Avenue early today, apparently the victim of a heart attack.
A Gary resident since 1906, Hoeckelberg had been manager of the Bader Corporation's Steel City Lumber and Supply company, Miller, since February, 1921. He had been associated with the Bader organization since 1909. He was 56 years old.
Funeral Probably Friday
The body was taken to the Williams and Burns mortuary, where it will remain pending completion of funeral plans, which are to be announced tomorrow.
C.W. Bader, president of the Bader corporation, who is assisting the family with arrangements, indicated the rites would be held on Friday.
Hoeckelberg, who had not previously been ill, was sticken in his sleep about 1 a.m., and succumbed 20 minutes later.
A Lake County native - he was born on a farm near Crocker - he made his start in the building materials business in early 1906 as an employee of the old Calumet Lumber company, then operated by Walter Kaoechlor at 901 Grant.

He joined the Bader oragnization three years later when the Calumet yard was consolidated with that of the former Tolleston Lumber and Coal company, which then operated at 940 Taft, where the Calumet Millworks company, another Bader subsidiary, now is situated.
Survivors are the widow, Edna; a daughter, Helyn, a secretary in the offices of the Bader corporation, and three brothers and three sisters.
The brothers are Charles, Burbank, Calif.; Henry, Valapraiso, and Fred, San Pierre. The sisters are Mrs. Mamie Magnuson, Chesterton, Mrs. Hannah Tetzloff, North Judson, and Mrs. Helen Scholz, San Pierre.

W.H. Hoeckelberg Funeral Services Tomorrow
Funeral services for William H. Hoeckelberg, pioneer resident and lumber dealer who died suddenly inhis Miller residence early yesterday, will be held at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow in the Williams and Burns mortuary chapel.
The paster of the Chapel of the Dunes, Rev. Harry J. Stubbs, will officiate. After the services the body will be take to Chicago for cremation.
Pallbearers will be A.W. Brandt, A.H. Michael, Kenneth Gustafson, Chalres Castor. All but Castor, a lifelong friend, werelongtime business associates of the pioneer in the Bader corporation, with which he was identified for 38 years.
The Miller and East Gary yards of the Stell City Lumber and Supply company, of which Hoeckelberg had been manager since early 1921, will be closed all day tomorrow.
Hoeckelberg, 56 years old, lived at 5616 Miller avenue. His death was attributed to heart disease.
