Carolyn Ann Nation was the fifth child to be born to Lee Dell Nation, Sr. and Eva Mae Johnikin Nation on March 18, 1955 in Monroe, LA. She joined the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at an early age, and there remained until later years. When she was in the sixth grade, she met and fell in love with a tall, handsome young man named Johnny. She vowed that he would one day be her husband. Subsequently, on November 22, 1973, Carolyn united in holy matrimony to Mr. Johnny L. Nute. And to this union, two children were born.

In 1991, she united with Farmerville Church of God in Christ, where she was a faithful and loyal member. She served as president of the mission department, assistant Sunday School teacher for kindergarten class, member of the Sancturary Choir, and she worked in the kitchen ministry. She went into the community to seek out those who needed assistance, and reported back to the church. She frequently used her own money to help those in need. She never met a stranger.

Carolyn was always a family-oriented person. She loved her family deeply. She was preceeded in death by her mother, Eva Nation; one brother, Dewayne Nation; four aunts: Clemmie Hill, Mae Ella Jackson Fields, Gloria Johnikin, and Earlene Shiggers; mother and father-in-law, Arolla and John D. Nute; sister-in-law, Brenda Nute, four brothers-in-law, Larry D. Burch, Cardell Nute, Jackie Nute, and James Nute; one uncle-in-law, Kenneth "Chuck" Jackson, and an aunt-in-law, Mae Ola Montgomery.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Johnny L. Nute; two daughers, Stephanie Morgan and Koyonna Nute; and one adopted son, Akeyio Lee; four grandchildren, Breyonna, Michael Jr., Kerrigan, and Kelan; one special son-in-law, Michael Morgan, Sr.; father Lee Dell Nation, Sr.; five brothers, James (Jolynn) Nation, Lee Dell Nation, Jr., Thomas (Gwen) Nation, Kenneth (Cynthia) Nation, and Gerome Nation; four sisters, Bobbie Burch, Evelyn Nation, special sister--Marilyn Nation, and Elaine Nation; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
