BREWER - Mary Margaret Barber, 84, died Monday, June 6, 2005, at the Greenhouses at Traceway. A lifelong resident of the Brewer community, she was born June 5, 1921, to the late Sidney Bates and Minnie Fulton Carson. She was a retired nurse's aide at the North Mississippi Medical Center and a member of Brewer Baptist Church. She enjoyed her family and friends, gardening, fishing and mowing her yard.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with the Rev. Sean Tutor Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Brewer Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Barber Landers and husband, Gene, of Brewer; a brother, Robert Lee Carson and wife, Faye, of Brewer; two grandchildren, Bill Collins and wife, Myra, of Pontotoc, and Stacy Collins of Shannon; four great-grandchildren, Kayla Collins, Kari Collins, Emma Carson Collins and Will Collins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Olan Ray Barber, and 11 brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be Robert Godfrey, John Carson, Benny Carson, Mike Godfrey, Jim Johnson and Sammy Carson.
Visitation will be from noon to service time today.
Memorials may be made to he Brewer Cemetery Fund.
